looking for advice. can any one suggest plant with following requirements:
1. Must be very fine texture, small leaves
2. Red or pink'ish in colour
3. Low ground (to keep it nicely formed in small bush)

strong light, co2, fertilisation soil system - i have it all

thanks in advance

I am planted!

Red rotala (some dealers name it R. indica). In my LFS I've seen it under very strong light and trimmed heavily... Perfect for a midground red and dense bush (10 cm approx). Another option can be H. araguaia, with nice color but leaves are not so delicate.
Subscribed to this one! I also miss something like a red Hemianthus micrantehmoides. Is it also our idea?

Rotala mexicana 'Goias' comes to mind.........
Rotala wallichii, will work, too.....
Rotala sp 'Enie' can be trimmed to fit needs......
If you are really good at trimming - Myriophyllum tuberculatum is a possibility

- Just to name some 🙂

Of those, the H. araguaia is defenitely the "safest" one. It is quite tolerant.
R. mex. 'Goias' seem to prefere soft-ish water......

I think my water should be around 3-4kh and 7-9gh. but it is just what I think after RO, minerals and ada amazonia

I just to have araguaia, i like very the shape of it.

Any special technique? I would love this plant in the background of my 25ish liter tank mixed with Rotala rotundifolia, H. pinnatifida and H. micrantehomoides (all of them currently in the tank). Not very defined bushes like in Dutch tanks, but a truly stem mix. Do you think they will match together in terms of management, growth rate and max height (max 20 cm)?

The trick with Myr.tuberculatum, is the same as for other stem-plants : get each stem as strong (=full of stored energy) as possible. In coloured stems, this will also give best, possible colour.
Technique is to let each stem grow to surface - if possible to lay a few cm. horizontal, even.....before cutting it. This way stem has best access to light and CO2. Together with good fertilisation, this will secure maximum growth and storage of energy.
As you cut (preferably low, for aestethical appearance of left part), you re-plant this very strong cutting (in the length desired, but not too short, since this may starve it of light). Remember to remove lowest leaves, before re-planting.
Now, again, let this stem grow to surface, as first time.....cut.....re-plant.....repeat.....
This way you strenghten stems by each re-plant, and full potential (f.ex. colour) can be achieved.....even if only in (relatively) shallow water.

P.S. - this will ofcourse only work partially, with creeping and arching stems......😉
