Hi,

I have planted my tank up and the plants seem to be doing great, but this is plant has been planted for about 2 week and it has doubled in size. I would really like to get more of it but haven't got a clue what it is.

Can anyone tell me what this is? Also can I cut it and replant the off cuts?

Thanks

Alex

Brilliant thanks, it has grown like wild fire which made me think I might be 8n luck with keeping this one.

Thanks

It might be Lagarosiphon majo
This plant is now wide spread in UK waters especially those near conurbations.

This plant is listed on Schedule 9 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act in England and Wales therefore it is an offense to plant or otherwise cause to grow this species in the wild. Do we have 'wild' in the UK, I thought that all land was owned or is this methinks a point of law that lawyers win fees from both sides. A bit like curtilage of a landscaped large country property.

Still it is a nice plant especially for cold water systems, gets a bit leggy in warm water.
