Ill be the first to admit that I spend way more time than I should looking at plant species online.. but this one has me stumped.
Im thinking its either one of the old fashioned plants or one of the lesser used "weeds" that aquascapers dont use much any more, I dont think this is Rotala wallichii, the leaf attachments dont match.
I will look into it and get back to this thread

This one has leaf attachment side by side, i dont know the right word in English.
The plant in the original post appears to have alternate leaves

@Chris_Homan could you take a few more up close photos of the plants?

I see your point and I think your right, the leaves on mine att
Yes, Mayaca sellowiana seems correct. I had never heard of it but it came recommended to me given my setup. Keen to see how it develops.

Keen to see how it develops.
In low-tech, it definitely requires soft acidic water. Good indicator of iron deficiency. Only yesterday, i moved her sister - Mayaca fluviatilis - from soft acidic tank to a tank with pH = 7.0 and a bit alkalinity. I'm curious to see the result; it grew very quickly in the first one, and whenever I accomplish a success, I can't avoid tendency to quit and try different conditions... unless I know about all on a given species, and then I usually donate it.
I wonder if Mayaca can be kept with CO2 support and strongly chelated iron fertilizer in a water with a bit higher alkalinity (> 2 °dKH)...;)
