PH testing

Sorry in advance as I’m sure this has been asked 100”s of times!!! Setting up my first CO2 tank this weekend and was wondering what most people use for testing their PH apart from a drop checker in the tank. I have an API master test kit that I think is now out of date so was wondering how you test it for the 1 point drop people often talk about on here. As I’m new to co2 there’s loads to take it all at once it seems!
