Hello,

according to a chart a Kh of 9 and a Ph of 6 means 270 ppm!!! lets say I am off by 1 in Kh and 0.5 in Ph then its a 76 ppm! This is more than enough CO2!

Is this killing my plants? Shouldn't I be observing very good growth with an 11w CFL and EI overdosing?

Thanks

Other things apart from CO2 (e.g. tannins from wood) can lower the pH of the aquarium water.

Take a glass of aquarium water and let it stand for 24 hours to let the CO2 dissipate. Measure the pH. This is the pH you should compare to the aquarium water with CO2 e.g. doing a pH profile.

Let's assume you have enough CO2, it may still take a while for the plants to adjust to life underwater, especially when you are tuning in the CO2.
