Hello all!

I bought some new fish from my LFS, labeled as 'Paskai Blue Eye'. It seems their known as a Paska's Blue Eye or Pseudomugil paskai. I've been looking for a Blue-Eye Rainbowfish species to purchase, and they had these along with Gertrudae Rainbowfish. When in the store, looking up Paskai Blue Eye brings up pictures of Pseudomugil luminatus, so I thought they were the same fish. I've been having the hardest time finding useful information online about this species. There are a few pictures out there, but it's hard to tell if mine are truly Paskai. Does anybody have experience with these/Pseudomugil in general?

I've included some pictures. Hopefully they can be of some use.

I also can't tell if I have any male fish. The colors seem pretty subdued on all of them, but some are still quite young; only 3/4"(~18mm). I'm willing to go back and pick up a few more if need be

There is one larger fish looking quite slender. Could this be internal parasites? (Pics A,B) I'm not sure of the store's quarantine procedures, and I'm assuming these are imported fish. Another has an oddly protruding jaw, relative to the other fish. (Pic C,D) Normal, yet small fish is in Pic E. Any info on this would be great!

Thanks!

Pseudomugil luminatus is redder than Pseudomugil paskai, and often called red neon blue eyed rainbow fish. True Pseudomugil paskai doesn’t have the red.

Perhaps you have to wait for a while for them to colour up before yiu can tell what you’ve ended up with.

There is information about them both in this, Rainbowfishes.2011, the file is too large for me to upload but perhaps @dw1305 can help, as I originally it snaffled from him.
