Hi Everyone,
I've recently equipped my tank (OASE 90) with a Chihiro WRGB Pro 90 light and had the chance to use a PAR meter. Below are the key points of my setup and the methodology used for taking the PAR readings, followed by a chart with the results:
I hope it helps someone.
All the best.

I've recently equipped my tank (OASE 90) with a Chihiro WRGB Pro 90 light and had the chance to use a PAR meter. Below are the key points of my setup and the methodology used for taking the PAR readings, followed by a chart with the results:
- The light fixture is mounted 18cm above the tank's surface, ensuring optimal light distribution.
- The tank is 45cm high.
- The substrate is 1cm in height at the point where the meter was positioned when taking the bottom reading.
- I measured PAR levels at three points: the tank's bottom, middle, and top.
- The measurements were carried out across a range of lighting intensities, increasing in increments of 10% from 0 to 100%.
- It's worth noting that the colour settings for White, Red, Green, and Blue were maintained at equal levels.
Setting % | PAR Bottom | PAR Mid | PAR Surface |
---|---|---|---|
10 | 7 | 10 | 14 |
20 | 21 | 28 | 38 |
30 | 34 | 45 | 61 |
40 | 48 | 60 | 83 |
50 | 60 | 76 | 104 |
60 | 74 | 87 | 127 |
70 | 87 | 107 | 147 |
80 | 100 | 123 | 168 |
90 | 111 | 138 | 190 |
100 | 121 | 153 | 215 |
All the best.
