Optimal arrangement to maximize flow

I have a 125 gallon tank that I am currently setting up. I have a Fluval FX5 with dual head output shaped like a V (rated output of 925 GPH) and two Koralia Nano Powerheads (425 GPH each). I also have another powerhead that was being used as part of an undergravel filter that I am turning off. The tank is a typical rectangular shape. What is the optimal way to arrange these devices to maximize flow. Thanks

To be honest, only you can answer that question. As long as you achieve your goal of water movement and, therefore, nutrients in all four corners, you are on the right track. Just experiement, and keep an eye out for algae in certain areas as an indicator of low flow, and adjust accordingly.

The dynamics within the tank change as plants grow and interfere with flow, so minor adjustments to flow direction now and then could be ongoing.

Like Dave says, only you can answer that really. Normal thought would be to fit your filteroutlet with a spray bar and then blast the flow across from the back of the tank into and then down the front glass, with your powerheads fitted to the rear glass in the same arrangement. The aim is to get all your plants "swaying in the breeze". However, as Dave says, different plant and hardscape arrangements can affect this flow so your powerheads may need to be shifted to minimize any "dead spots"
Hope this helps,
Matt
