Same plant? I have CO2 and use plant ferts, but should they be this different?

Nymphaea Rubra is a cultivation name of the N. Pubescens (hairy waterlily).. There is not very much cultivation information to be found. The plants with the redish color tendensies go in the aquarium trade often as Rubra. It might wel be that soil contents determines the color it will eventlualy develop and you might in the end, end up with a green one. It is not yet known why one is red and the other is less or not. Maybe iron rich soils triggers red generations. You could try laterite clay balls and add a few to the substrate next to the bulb.. Lilies love clay.. Laterite is iron rich red clay. But it is jsut a hunch, heve no personal experience with this lily.. :)

Hence the name pubes(cens), when it matures and makes floating leaves you'll notice the hairy stems and possibly leave underside beeing hairy. Thats next to the flower a trade mark for identification..
