Nymphaea lilly

i have a Nymphaea lilly planted in one of my
tanks its been already been moved from one
tank to a bigger tank as the growth rate is
immense from bulb to fully grown plant
in about eight weeks so what i was wondering
is it possible to prune this plant to keep it
in control

Absolutely. You can cut the larger leaves off at the stem base OR you can take a whole plant off of the bulb (and sell it !). It will shoot out about 10 plantlets normally.

Nope they live fine because they develop a root system that once detached from the bulb, continues to feed the plant.

I have two in my tank and they are always sending out runners.I too was told they would die if I removed them but when I pulled them up they had their own root system and bulb and the people I have let have then are very pleased with the growth so far.
