I'm about to start an Iwagumi scape and a friend and fellow board member suggested emersed growth to establish carpeted MC which makes good sense..
The tank is a fluval 80 x 36 x 43 CM 125L with substrate ADA amazonia, and the issue I have is would the ammonia from the substrate combined with the nutrients be too much for MC to grow emersed, I fear in fact, that it might even be too much submersed.. I plan on adding more low tech plants to compliment the scape but the idea is to let the MC carpet and hopefully speed up the process if it weren't under water. Anyone tried this with this substrate?
