Got my new shaft today, its fits all ok.
Do i put some silicone grease on it to lube it or not, i noticed another pump i got new has a slight grease covering on the shaft.
Ive got some silicone grease in the garage. Not food grade. But i may have some food grade in my diving bag but think it may have run out.

Unless its specifically says so (or includes grease) put in as is. My jbl ceramic shaft went in straight out packet.

Most waterpumps are self lubricating and cooling, some have a ceramic shaft others stainless steel. The shaft in the impelor magnet is mostly teflon.. The biofilm in the pump will lubricate enough.. When this developes after a few days you notice it also getting more quiet.. :) Lubrication like grease and dirty water only will trap debri and in worst scenario can make it a perfect polishing compount.. Nothing more agressive than water with for example sand particles and grease, it wears down bearings like a treat on no time. :)
