Well I've finally bitten the bullet & got a couple of discus about 6cm in size & intend to get more.
I have a 300l planted tank with 2 filters running for about 9 months now with just about 20 cardinal tetras a few ottos & amano shrimp for company
They have been in there a week now & I love them already, they stick with each other & seem to encourage each other to be more adventurous nudging the other forward . I admit I was a bit apprehensive at first but they seem to be settling in really well. It's my first time keeping them having always wanted to.
I only have 2 at the moment I couldn't afford to buy more at the time, & if I did buy more what if things just weren't quite right could work out expensive. What I was thinking at the time.
My water is 50/50 RO/tap 25% water change weekly ph 7 & Crystal clear & everything else 0
They do hide a bit I'm assuming they are still settling in but they do come out from time to time & feeding well
I hope to add a few more in time do you think they will venture out more with a few more additions & what is a good number to keep in my size aquarium?
