Quick question. I have kept a reef tank for around 20 years but am in the process off breaking it down. I will have a spare Nero 5 wavemaker which can be adjusted to push out a really slow flow. Is this appropriate re waterflow for the planted 252 litre C02 tank I am setting up?

IMO yes just as good for a planted tank.
You won't need the wave features but they have a good wide flow pattern which is good for moving big chunks for water rather than jets.
