It was sold to me as a bucephalandra.

It is definitely a Bucephalandra sp. You will need some-one else to tell you which one.

Ill take a stab at it, if @Wesley888 can answer a few questions?
Did these plants come in pots / professional packaging like you would get from a plant nursery?
Or did they come from a plant collector / hobbyist?
If they came in pots from a plant nursery, do you know which nursery?

To me it looks like bucephalandra pygmaea wavy green, but when it comes to buce the differences are so subtle, it's often hard to say for sure.

I'd say same raason you get new iPhone models. Slightly different colors and round or square edges alternating each year.

Don't think its Wavey Green, might be a Theia!
There is a Dark Theia below....same leaf shape....I think there might be a Green variety!!!
