Hello everyone,

I'm fairly new to shrimp keeping. I have noticed some of my shrimp have developed a saddle and I want to make sure I have some males in there. I only started with 10 so my colony is small and I lost a few (one every week) so I'm unsure how many I have right now.

Are any of the following males? Also any idea what grade?

Assuming saddled female?

I checked a few websites on how to sex them but I was like "they all look female to me" so I thought maybe I'm doing something wrong.

This is another picture of the one that wasn't fully shown

Unless you're looking to cull to improve your stock i wouldnt worry about grades

The one above looks like a high grade painted fire red. It has good colour from the body to the legs. If you had a few males with the same quality you could separate, and breed them. The next generations would hopefully be the same, and or improve.

Hello Jaseon,

I was asking for the grades as I bought them without any mention of the grades. so I know buying from now on what to expect.

Tomorrow I should be receiving some lower grade juveniles. To me seeing shrimps thrive is the most satisfying thing, their grade is not as important. So hopefully lower grade juveniles should be hardy enough for a novice like me.

Neo
