Hi All - this is part I of this post. I've posted 25 pictures in each since there is a limit of 40 per post.

Not sure if anyone in the forums has ever been to Bangkok, Thailand - but there is an impressive market here called Chatuchak (also called the weekend market). In one area there is a dedicated aquatic plant section (along with several fish shops). While my Thai is okay, they have Thai names for most of the plants on sale there, and since I'm fairly new to the hobby, only a few that I recognize. I've offered to print a small guide to the plants that are most commonly available at the market (I'm doing this for free), and will make a note of both the Thai, English common, and Latin names of the plants that can be identified.

So - if anyone here can name a plant in the series of pics below - I'd be very grateful.

I'd originally thought that chatuchak-plants-22.jpg - Hygrophila polysperma 'rosanervig' was Hygrophila corymbosa 'Siamensis'. It's clearly Hygrophila polysperma 'rosanervig' :)

Yep - that one is easy to ID .........;)

Interesting - I also have some 12/24. Limnophila sessiliflora in my tank, but thought that it was Hottonia palustris.

Hi Martin - they know some of the common names in English - like 'Sag' for Sagittaria subulata (Dwarf Sagittaria), but for most of the species here, when asked, they'll reply with a local Thai name - which I had no way of translating.

I think you could be correct...on 12.:watching:
Number 14 looks like cuttings from the top section of Cabomba o_O now i have another look....:nailbiting:;)
Limnophila sessiliflora.....is very floppy if you take it out the aquarium....if it stands up its not Limnophila sessiliflora.

Just like here in China....not very helpful names like "easy red" and such

12 and 24 could be subject to discussion, you are right on that.
Lim.sess. usually grow much longer internodes (the stem-section between leaf-sections), than Hot. pal. and it grow VERY much faster, than Hottonia. And Hogan is right; the Lim.sess. is considerably more "floppy", than Hottonia. Furthermore Hottonia has a strong tendency of "arching" the stems - whereas Lim.sess usually goes straight to surface ( in a H... of a speed !!)
