Hey guys, figured it would be a good time to post pics of the tanks while I'm not experiencing any problems 😱
Not sure about the rest of you, but I do try and refrain from posting pics when they aren't looking so good. Bad I know, but I feel quite personally about it - it's weird.
Tank with diagonal wood:
60L - low tech, low/medium light (on 12 hours - with programmable dimmer), no CO2, slight K + Mg dose and trace at W/V but that's it. No root tabs/substrate or anything special. Started as a test tank, now is home and breeding ground for cherry shrimp and as a quarantine for sick fish. I pretty much forget about this one (apart from feeding the shrimp of course), monthly W/C of about 50% because of the tannins, otherwise I'd go longer.
Corner Tank:
190L, low tech, low light (on 10 hours) no CO2, slight Mg + K dose and lean trace, bi monthly W/C, no root tabs. Home to 7 severely deformed neon tetras (I rescued them like that), about 100 captive bred Amano shrimp, 7 ottos, 2 S+P corys, and an MTS I can't catch for the life of me.
Square tank:
High tech, high light (90W custom LED), CO2, EI (although trying something else recently), root tabs, weekly 80% W/C, liquid carbon sometimes, sumped, overflow. Love it - my favorite tank, and the one that demands most of my attention.
Small long:
25L, low light (about 1.5M of RGBW all channels running, on anywhere up to 18 hours a day - some days on, some off, depends if I remember it), homebrew CO2 (read as pain in the backside), no livestock, started only two weeks ago from scratch. Slight Mg, K, and N dosing with lean trace. Mostly a test tank to help learn what adding too much or too little or anything translates in to without causing any animals to become uncomfortable. You might notice hair algae right now, well, I dumped 10PPM of PO4 in there for a laugh and it appeared two days later. Whether that was the cause, I dunno.... but there it is. My challenge is to get rid of it by any other means than manually. quadruple dose of liquid carbon going in tomorrow, again, for a laugh.
Not the best in the world granted, but I really do enjoy the ups and downs of them. I couldn't imagine by daily life without them now.
