I have finally set up my tank after moving home, It looks okay after a couple of days.
I have started by dosing Neutro+ and Liquid carbon from aqua essentials and have also bought some EI ferts which I plan to use once I've used my AE stuff up.
To see my pic you'll need to click on the image link, I don't know how to upload so that the pic is shown as others do. It's an age thing!!
I will be doing a lot of work, adding and subtracting plants and getting rid of the unsightly heater and installing a neater spraybar. The pic is taken the day after set up and the water is much clearer now.
I welcome criticism so long as it's constructive and helps me to improve.
Harry.

Looks really good for a start out! Will only improve too as it fills out.
The only thing that I could say that's a real easy fix is to smooth out the substrate at the glass. It just tidies the whole look with really no effort! 🙂
For posting pictures to the forum, look for the links - there is one called an IMG code and has
around the link. If you copy and paste that into your post then it will show up as a picture on the page 🙂

Set up is:
Pressurised CO2 using soda stream.
LED lights which are the original 'tile' that came with the Betta 78 plus an extra adhesive 'Sea Chem' LED white strip.
Substrate is from Tesco (if you get the drift😉)
Plants:Ludwigia glandulosa
Cryptocorune beckettii petchii
Hygro corymbosa siamensis
Rotala rotundifolia
Pogostemon helferi
Limnophila sessiliflora
Staurogyne repens
Hemianthus callitrichoides cuba

Thanks Claire, I'll give it a go when I post an update. Yes, I've smoothed out the substrate as I did notice I'd messed it up when planting, it does look better. Cheers.

No worries, will be good to see it as it progresses. You could always start a journal of it's progress

Looks really good for a start out!The water should be much more clearer after a couple of days.Take a new pic.🙂

So (hopefully) here are pics taken after exactly 5 days.
I am doing 40-50% water changes daily, I have a Eheim ecco 200 and a powerhead ( have just ordered a Koralia 900 to replace the existing powerhead) CO2 is set at 3 bps.

Sorry, still coming to terms with getting pics from imageshack. Click on above for pics.

Click the little tree icon where you type comments, then post the link and hopefully that will work 🙂

Thanks, I'll keep working at it and submit pics from time to time.
My computer skills leave a lot to be desired (Silver surfer syndrome🙁) but I'll work at that too:lol: !

Had the family round tonight so was unable to sit in front of the tank to do my observations🙁

Plants look healthy 🙂, it will get better as it fills out. Well done

Cheers Steve, hope they continue to look as green as they do now, They are all 'Tropica' stock and were nice when I bought them.
