Mowing the grass

Hi All,

My Dwarf Hair Grass is full of string algae, its too thick for the wrap in a tooth brush trick (it would pull it all up).

My questions is, if i trim it really low like you would with a garden lawn will it survive? Do you trim your grasses at all?

I trim mine occasionally, mainly because I get the odd clump of moss starting to grow if I don't remove it quick enough. I grows back fine every time.

fwiw, had similar situation and have since given my grass two heavy trimmings. It allowed me to clear up the algae but also flow was improved through the grass which I think helped keep it from coming back as bad?
