Moving plants to another aquarium

Hi all!
Soon I will a get a new aquarium and I would like to move my current plants to new one, but there will be a gap around 4-7 days between old tanks go and new one comes. So my question is, can I put my plants in some container with water for a week? Will they survive?

I think it will depend on the type of plant. I've done it with the easier/hardier types on a couple of ocassions.

The answer is yes provided the temperature and light levels are adequate for the plants you have.
Make sure the plants are not too thick in the container.
I find washing up bowls best , more space to spread and sort plants as you replant.
