Some of us add a little bit of acid to our micros to prevent mold from growing in it. Would it be ok to add some Excel/Easycarbo instead since glutaraldehyde is a disinfectant ? Im guessing it wouldnt affect the micros at all but would it help with the fungus ?

Great, thanks a lot. Is there any actual benefit in adding Excel to micros ? If I remember on the Excel bottle it says that it helps in making Iron more available to the plants or something ?

It's probably best to just consider it's antifungal/anti-mould properties and to forget about any bioavailability issues, as this is very difficult to determine without data, and is likely to be merely propaganda. The typical Iron mix is chelated, and this makes it bioavailable for an hour at least after it's dumped into the tank. That's good enough for our purposes. If their claims are valid then this is gravy.

Cheers,

Hi Clive
Thats a good tip on keeping fungus at bay within your dosing bottles.
How much glutaraldehyde do you suggest for say 250ml bottle.
Would 1ml be suffice :?:
Cheers
