So here it is, my first aquarium;
it's a fluvial chi 6.6g or 25 litters as you prefer. First i had only a few gold fish in there with some plastic plants, that last not more than 2 months, which is when I discovered aquascaping.
So the tank went from this

To this :

Then I wanted to had a little sand river so this was the result (pictures quality will upgrade as I learn about photography and aquascaping through time):

I moved on and decided to try something new, the result is not that bad but the lack of CO2 really is present :

At the moment here is what I have ion this tank

TANK : Fluval chi 6.6g :shh:

FILTRATION : Aquaclear mini with bio rings and a sponge. Plus a intake sponge since I lost 2 yellow shrimps…

LIGHTING : 2 desktop lamps at 13W each for a total of 26w. It's on from 8h00 to 11h00, then from 13h30 to 19h00.

CO2 : None for the moment but I am planning to get it soon.

FERTS : Seachem Flourish twice a week.

PLANTS :
  • java fern
  • Rotala rotundifolia
  • Bacopa caroliniana
  • Cryptocoryne wendtii
  • anubias nana petite
  • Hemianthus Cuba
  • Eleocharis parvula
  • Alternanthera Rosaefolia
  • A moss I can't identify at the moment since it got mixed with other moss:crazy:
  • a kind of echinodorus

LIVING :
  • 3 clithon corona snails
  • 3 yellow shrimp (all males , lost all the other to the filter)

Now planning to get some galaxy rasbora in there.

Sooooo what do you say??

Always good seeing a goldfish death trap being put to more suitable use. Looking great. I don't think you need both lights running at the same time or the break period in the middle. You could run one for 6 hours and have the other one on as a viewing light when you want. Or you could have a mid day blast for an hour were both lights were on.

I used both light to obtain the pink color of the alternanthera. Doesn't seem to work though. Guess it's not lacking light but it's lacking nutrients. I'll post an update soon, the moss is doing well, so is the fern. Ending school in 2 weeks so I will have time to get some cash and put some CO2 and some nutrients in there.

Gotta admit that I am envisaging a ADA 45P to replace the chi. But I will wait to see the effect of CO2, I think it can still be surprising.

So, some update :

The tank is gone!

I would like to say I miss it, but I don't

A guy came and bought it for 90 bucks (with a lot of stuff of course, like an aquaclear)à
and the day after I bought a ada like tank with and ada like stand, which you will see in another topic.

This was the final stage of the tank. HC grew a little bit, the red plants lost all their colors and the java fern was not good looking... (sorry I can't turn it around )
