Hi all,
Just had a letter from Anglian Water telling us they are to "Flush the water mains" around Jan 28th in order to ensure they can continue to supply quality water.

They warn of discoloured water for a few days and specifically advise those with ponds and aquariums to refrain from topping up with water for 48 hours after the flush.

It is emphasised the water will not be harmful to drink but say people should not use water heaters or showers at the time of the flush.

Just wondered, is there anyone with knowledge of these things who might be able to offer additional advice re aquarium care at this time.?.
Harry.

Anglian water do this from time to time...if your doing water changes at this time, the only thing I can advise is to get a barrel of ro water from your lfs. If this isn't possible, do a big water change before they flush the pipes.

Cheers Ian and a Happy New Year to you and all.

It may have sounded like an elementary question I know but I'm pleased no one has come back with horror stories. I'll do as you suggest and big water change just prior to the flush. That should see me through.
Harry.
