I bought this ludwigia at the lfs around 2 weeks ago and they didn't know what species it was.

It was in its emmersed form. Now that the growth has made its transition, I would think it's ovalis sp.

Am i right ?

Based on probability I would say Ludwigia repens, as Maq said there are a few hybrids and/or cultivars (if this is the right word) on the market.
Since you purchased it from a store, the odds of it being Ludwigia repens 'Rubin' or something very similar is high.
It would help to know what plant nursery your store uses to supply their plants.
It might be different in Canada, but here in Europe Ludwigia ovalis is not a common species in stores.

The lfs owner told me it was imported from asia or something like that from his supplier. He took some of them since he never saw them before but couldn't remeber the name.

This is why i would think its ovalis. Could be anything else aswell.

Just standard old repens!

I was sold repens last year....which was advertised as rubin......therefore easily mistaken even by sellers!
Below repens from my new mini grow tank!
Two opposite leaves per node.

Most refer to flowgrow or Tropica websites, l have a old water plant encyclopedia by Dr Jiri Stodola which bears out what @_Maq_ says above Ludwigia Natans also known as Palustris according to the book
I have already had Palustris in the past and the plant is just more "frail" than this one. This one has bigger leaves, thicker stem etc. Everything is just more robust than the palustris.

@John q , what is that plant with dissected leaves in the right low corner of your pic? Hottonia?
