Hi from a new member; had Discus / Amazon-themed aquariums for 30+ years (basically since childhood), mostly 200-400L low-tech.
We recently moved to a new house and am now planning my dream aquarium build - a ~1.200L aquarium with a "wild" nature aquascape hopefully catching the atmosphere and concept of something close to Josh Sim's Congo. There will be many technical hurdles to overcome and figure out how to do this project and I look forward to learning and hopefully getting some good tips and guidance from experts here.
cheers!

Will do, thanks! Will also follow through as we go through the design/skeching, building, scaping, etc. I look forward to continous input from all of you 🙂
I just made a first post in the "General planted tank" discussions - I will need some initial "high-level" concepts cleared first to set the foundation of what is actually achievable and what should be the main engineering / equipment to support it. I will then open up a dedicated journal.
cheers!

Hi @aeneas

Firstly, welcome to UKAPS!

With a 1200 litre aquarium (over a tonne), I guess you must have a pretty strong floor! I have a particular interest in the Congo - where would I find more about Josh Sim's Congo?

"Congo" is a 2017 IAPLC winner - Grand Prize Work. I'm not sure if I can post links, but here is one that I hope will work: a really nice video with Josh Sim coming to a Hungarian aqua shop to discuss his design and then make a small version imitation of the aquascape design on the spot for them:
