I started this project a few months ago and I’ve been taking pictures along the way with a view to doing a journal so people can advise and critique me along the way!

I‘ve been doing a dry start for over a month so I guess I better post this now and get people up to date with progress before I flood it.

Equipment List

Green Aqua Optiwhite Mini M 36x22x26
ONF Flat Nano Light
Oase Filtosmart 100 Thermo External Filter
ADA Lily Pipe V1 inflow
ADA LilyPipe P2 spin
CO2 Art pro elite regulator with welding bottle
Tropica Powder Soil
Millennium Stone

Plant List
HC Cuba tissue culture
Blyxa Japonica tissue culture (now removed as it was pointed out to me that wouldn't work with a dry start!)
Eleocharis Acicularis (Cuttings removed from other tank)
Juncus Repens (replaced the Blyxa)

I will try and update this journal now as things are changed and any progress (good or bad is made)!

Any tips, criticism and help along the way will be greatly appreciated. Especially when I flood it soon🤣.

Cheers for the amazing forum and the help from everyone so far.

Looks great, really like the lazy dry start method, your plant selection compliments the scape nicely

Looking good! Nice scape and nice kit. I see you have in line CO2 (watch that kink in the tube there) but where is the drop checker?

Cheers!

Yeah I have been having a bit of a nightmare with the hoses they seem way to soft and don’t hold shape at all not like the hose that came with the filter. I think I need to look for clear hose thats a little stiffer.

Drop checker now added.

I returned from a long weekend away to find no CO2 coming from diffuser (I had hastily tried to turn down the needle valve the tiniest bit before going away not realising it’s on a hair trigger and I had basically all but turned it off).

So done a 50% water change and trimmed the HC as it was starting to really shoot upwards (I should have taken a picture before trimming!)

So far happy with how it’s going, I really need to fine tune the Co2 though.

Should I just keep trimming the HC to keep the growth compact and carpeting?

Tanks been running now for 11 days.

It all appears to be doing ok other than the HC in the left hand corner, is this melt ?

Should I just leave things as be and hope it sorts itself out?
