liquid or vapour withdrawal

You won’t need food grade CO2…remember that many people use fire extinguisher CO2. As to liquid or gas, I’d suggest that the pressure of liquid is too high for the regulators that we use.

The CO2 in a fire extinguisher is liquid. It’s absolutely fine with aquarium regulators. CO2 liquifies at just above 50 atmospheres at room temperature. I would imagine the most cost effective is liquid state?

I don’t know what food grade CO2 is.

EDIT: Corrected typo - 5 atmospheres to 50! Bit of a difference.

Thanks everyone.
All I wanted was sone help to choose what cylinder to choose from Boc website.
Thanks very much
And they have liquid ad vapor co2 ? = Vapour withdrawal.
What is best for us ? = ??? Not sure what you are asking here.
Food grade ? = Any, welding, food, medical or beer, (cheapest) etc...
Please can someone advice what of the cylinder to buy from there? = One that has the same thread as your Regulator or that you can source safe and appropriate adaptors. Take your Reg into the shop to ensure compatibility unless you are proficient with threads.
To place inside the cabinet? Thanks very much = One that fits inside whilst in the upright position allowing for the added height of your Reg.
Hope this helps!

Someone suggested that BOC told them all CO2 is the same. After a little research this isn’t true. CO2 is a byproduct from several different industries so can come from a variety of different sources. Most if not all of it is probably filtered to some degree to take impurities out? Depending on how it’s stored and transported though can further affect the purity.
Great lengths are taken for the food and beverage industry to ensure the purity. It’s been noted that it only takes a very tiny amount of impurities (heavy metals for example) to make it unsafe for human consumption.
On one of the Home Brew forums some used CO2 from a Fire Extinguisher and said it made his Beer taste “off”. He poured it all away and used Beer Gas after that.
It must depend on any impurities present but I suspect for Aquarium plants almost any grade of CO2 from a reputable source is ok?
Not sure about about ony other inhabitants like Fish or Shrimp though?
Food or Beverage grade CO2 isn’t expensive.

Essentially it is. I buy CO2 refills for both aquariums and brewing. The latter is from a specific food grade port, the former isn't as it is used for extinguisher refills etc, but they both get dispensed from the same main CO2 tank at the distributors. The product is transported and stored as one, there aren't two different grades of gas.

You are right still right though in that the only difference between them is that the food grade line has an inline filter to remove additional impurities, where the non-food grade line does not.

Additionally information from this site.

“Food-grade CO2 is produced and processed to meet specific purity standards suitable for use in food and beverage applications”.

“Food grade CO2 is subject to stricter quality control measures to ensure it is free from impurities, contaminants, and harmful substances that could affect the taste, safety, or quality of food and beverages. Regular CO2 may not undergo the same level of scrutiny”.

“Food-grade CO2 is handled and stored in a manner that minimizes the risk of contamination. It is typically stored in dedicated tanks and transported in clean, food-safe containers to prevent any potential contact with substances that could compromise its purity”.

“Strict handling and storage procedures required for food-grade CO2”.
