Hi,

At the mo, I have my lights on for 10 hrs, 1am til 11pm, and my co2 round the clock. I've just bought a solenoid.

Any advice on timings to run the co2? I have 3x38w, and I have 2 tubes on for the full 10hrs and one on for a midday effect between 6 and 8pm. (160ltr tank, t8 tubes).

Thanks peeps,

Fern

In general, turn the CO2 on 2 hours or so before the lights come on to ensure the water is at the desired ppm by the time the lights 'light'.

I turn mine on a fair bit earlier as we get some sun on to the tank and I'm hoping this will counter the effects a little!

My Co2 comes on 2.5 hrs prior to the first set of tubes coming on and goes off one hour prior to the lights going off.

The idea is to maximise the ppm of co2 within the water column prior to the lights switching on thus removing any deficiency or lack of Co2 within the tank.

Regards
Paul.
