i was wondering why is there a lack of people using PAR 38 all white led's for planted tank

is it unsuitable for any particular reason, for example too high PAR levels, it's spotlighting effect, maybe the effect and aesthetics is just not appealing for planted tank, or maybe people just havn't tried one yet...

i havn't tried any PAR 38, was planning on getting two for my 18 gallon reef, but forgot about it since I changed back to planted tank.

any ideas? cause if it works well with planted tanks, i might just get some.

There is no particular reason to my mind. I have looked at them before, they are not really any good for my large tanks simply because I would need many which I dont think would be practical, economic or aesthetically appealling. Perhaps for my 60 litre... then again depends on the mounting options vs other competing models.

I think from what I remember, at least from one supplier somthing Pacific...?? the price has since gone up quite a bit from when I first saw them???
