Currently using a Fluval Aqualife/Plant LED 25w for my 88ltr(19.5 Gall) 72cm x 35cm x 50cm tank.

Whilst I like the look/design of the light, it simply does not produce enough light at the bottom and I class it as low light.

I want to stay with LED's, can you recommend a suitable alternative ?

Just had a look at these unit - I would have no choice but to use a 28w version due to my tank length.

As I already have 28w in my Fluval, is there any point `upgrading` ? I guess this unit may use more superior leds to the Fluval unit but it may not.

Well after much digging the Fluval Aqualife 25W is only a piddly 1495lumens, (and 120' spread, so nice for illuminating outside your tank !!!😕) compared to an equivalent T5HO of 1900 lumens. An equivalent T8 tube is 1000lumens.

The Aquatlantis are about 1 1/2 times a T5HO (their website is down) so approaching 3000lumens at a guess and a tighter beam angle to illuminate the tank and not your floor....so a much much brighter light on your substrate.

So its 1495 lumens and 120' beam angle are its issue.

See here about the difference beam angle make, notice they don't even consider 120'.

i use the fluval and would call it high light.....no issues growing anything !

Just fitted the Aquatlantis, wow - what a difference. I would estimate it to be around 1.5 times as bright as my Fluval unit.

As my tank is about 18 inches deep, should help greatly with penetration of light
