Java Fern - In growing

Hi all,

What is going on with my Java fern please?
The leaves are sprouting out of existing leaves. Should i trim it back to the stem or what?
60L tank mixed plants all easy
amazon swords
foxglove
java moss
The current fern is attached to a rock
I recently introduced amano shrimp for the algae you see

Hello,

This is normal 'behaviour' with Java ferns, it's just reproducing. When I had them in my tank all you need to do is 'pluck' them off and propagate them onto more rock is you so wish. If you cut them make sure it's a clean cut and as close to the rhizome as possible but not into the rhizome itself! That way you won't have any unsightly twiggy bits and such.
