I've been feeding a 'lucky dip' of pond insects to my tanks

I don't think any eggs have survived, but my black neon tetras have been getting plumper and plumper for weeks, and last night they went into a egg scattering mess... right by the filter intake.

I feed a good amount daily of pond stuff which consists of anything I catch - apart from tadpoles - feeding 18 tetras in 90x40x30cm tank.

Only problem with this method is my pond is a filth trap, so I do let some crap into the tank.

Decant into buckets a couple of times with tank water, let it settle then net again into another bucket of tank water.
Any Midge larvae should be near the surface of the pond anyway along with Cyclops, Glass worm & Daphnia.
If your going deep near the bottom then you will pick up Caddis fly & Mayfly larvae.
Into the plants for Hydra & Dragon fly larvae both a big NO NO!
