Is filter media which absorbs phosphates and nitrates bad for planted tanks?

I was just wondering if I use in my JBL canister filter such a filter media https://www.jbl.de/?lang=en&mod=products&func=detail&id=2425 would it be bad for my plants, since it absorbs phosphates and nitrates?

If you have a planted tank with a fair amount of plants, you need not to worry about phosphates or nitrates as plants will be your filter for this. Save your money for more usefull things, like more plants.....

 

[Straight Shooter]

The only removal of nitrate and phosphate you want in planted tanks is via plant uptake or water changes.

Removing these nutrients may inhibit the growth of aquatic plants.
