I need to grow a lot of Java Fern

I am wanting to grow a lot of Java fern. I have a 3ft tank with an internal filter and light. I know that its quite slow growing, but can I do anything else to help it along. Will it benefit from ferts.
There are no fish in the tank and no substrate. The light is on for 8 hrs at present.

It can grow fairly fast actually. Just make sure you use a good "complete" fertilizer and make sure you have good flow around the roots and rhizome.
