Hello

I would like to find out how high this plant should grow? i bought mine 2 weeks ago from javaplants and it's already 20 cm high but everywhere on the internet says it should be up to 7 cm? just wondering if someone has got as high as mine.

Hi, mine tend to grow like yours. They will grow the entire height of the tank and try and grow ou of the water! I have read that it tends to grow higher with lower light levels, and stays low with intense high light levels.

chance are you have hydrocotyle leucocephala, a couple of the online plant mail order companies refuse to accept that they may have got it wrong.

That would make sense as I wouldn't class my lighting as low light but it isn't high light, and the stems still grow to the surface. When I bought mine, the pot had no label on it do it could be the other type of hydrocotyle.

My light is 43W T5 per 70 liters so I think it is OK but but this plant is growing like a mad, it is definitely not the same as on the pictures on the internet. My tank is 39 cm high and the plant is nearly touching the water level.
