Ok, Im fed up to the back teeth of trying and thinking of the best way to filter/distribute flow around my juwel rio 400 (5ft tank) ...... so I thought I would angle this question to everyone as to how they would set up their tank (151cm x 51 x 66) for best plant success at the least cost.

One big power filter, one long spray bar & an in line reactor.

In a tank that size I am a fan of a couple of filters, often you get more flow that way and there is some redundancy built in if a filter fails.

i have a very deep tank so i use 2X2229 eheim filters and a serio wae maker 1200lph

To give you the most effective/less expensive option it would help to know what you already have in term of filter, pumps etc.

Hamburger matenfilter with spraybar and inner filter with fine filter wadding for keeping water clear. Simple, safe, cheap and easy to care, just clean the inner filter when needed and water will be crystal clear!.

At the minute I have 2 x Allponds ex Filters (1400l/h & 2000l/h) and a 1600l/h powerhead

Spray bars running along full back length of the tank would be my suggestion. Powerhead you can decide to use later if you find any potential trouble spots.
