How to plant bulbs?

I just received this lotus bulb and want to make sure I plant it properly. Do I plant it with this end facing up? It appears to be the roots sprouting through but I’m not entirely sure.

Throw it in the tank lose for now. If the bulb is good it should sink within a day or two. Leave it free in the tank until it start to sprout the plant accordingly.

Thanks for the reply. When it does sprout roots do I bury the bulb ?

I buried mine so that it's mostly buried but the top is still just above the surface.
