How should I position this outlet lily pipe?

Hi all,

I’m currently in the process of setting up a new tank, specifically the Oase Styleline 125. I’ve only had nano tanks previously so some of this is new to me.

I’m planning to use an external filter for the first time (Biomaster Thermo 250) and run inline CO2. However, I’m struggling a bit on how to best position the outlet lily pipe.

As the Styleline isn’t a rimless tank and I’d ideally like to keep on the glass panels that form the lid, I’m a bit limited on where I can position the lily pipe. If I utilise the cutout section in the top left, then the pipe sits quite low down in the tank and I’m not sure if this will be close enough to the surface to create enough agitation. Also, the pipe would be facing the front of the tank rather than the opposite side, which isn’t a configuration I’ve seen anyone else do before. If I mount it to the side, I can’t properly put the glass panels back on the top. If it comes to it I could leave them off, but I’d rather not.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what would be the best way to position this, or any recommendations on any other type of outlet I could use instead? I’m not opposed to using the stock outlet pipe that comes with the Biomaster 250 but as I’m running inline CO2 I’m not sure if this would just push all of the CO2 bubbles towards the surface and not disperse them around the tank properly.

Thank you!

Ideally you want a nice flow across the whole tank with all the plants slowly moving.
Some of it is trial and error and affected by hardscape and where you extract the water.

I use a angle grinder with a diamond disc and a glass cutter, to cut extra holes in the lid.

what I heard is in and out on the same short side of the tank. To create a round flow through the tank.
I found the video - maybe you find it interesting and will it help you

I’d dispense with the lily pipe and use the stock biomasywr outlet - either spray bar or not. I used to use inline CO2 and the stock outlet and it worked fine in distributing the co2 so long as you don’t point it to the surface. With spray bar you can point alight down but still get surface agitation.

I suggest to ditch the lily pipe and use the biomaster spray bar. It's better anyway and your tank is pre cut to do just that. Make it hit the front glass, ever so slightly pointed down. You may need a skimmer in a long run.
