How much of this iron to mix for dosing

Each ml of the mix (40g Fe 6% EDDHA in 500ml) will provide:

400l: 0.012 ppm
680l: 0.007 ppm

I hope this helps!

The non-IFC calculator should help: Nutrient Dosing Calculator

I’m using Solufeed Fe 6% EDDHA 5.3% o-o and here’s a visual warning to take the red pigmentation risk seriously (if that’s something that might bother you). This is a 0.2ppm dose.

For 680 Litres:

  • Dissolve 11.34 grams of Fe EDDHA (6%) into 500 ml of solution.
  • Dose 10 ml per 680 litres, which will provide:
    • Fe = 0.02 ppm

For 400 Litres:

  • Dissolve 6.67 grams of Fe EDDHA (6%) into 500 ml of solution.
  • Dose 10 ml per 400 litres, which will provide:
    • Fe = 0.02 ppm

Recommendations:

I recommend not exceeding 0.02 ppm Fe from EDDHA, as higher doses may start to discolor the water noticeably. You can compare the effects of different Fe concentrations here. Although this link refers to EDDHSA Fe, it is very similar to EDDHA Fe, with EDDHSA potentially offering slight advantages due to its structural design.

For optimal results, I strongly recommend using DTPA Fe or a combination such as:
  • 0.08 ppm Fe from DTPA
  • 0.02 ppm Fe from EDDHA
  • Total Fe = 0.1 ppm
This combination enhances iron availability while reducing water discoloration. For further insights, refer to a related topic here
