How many people use wave makers? And am i right in thinking that they actually help keep the co2 floating around the tank longer. The only reason i ask is that iv just upgraded one of my filters to a aps 1400ef and that just points directly at my fissidens bonsai trees. The other filter points into the flow of that with the co2 on a inline diffuser. My problem is that hardly any flow hits the cuba at the bottom and the more i think its a problem makes me think about getting a wave makers to direct flow to the bottom of the tank. Am i right in thinking its overall flow within the tank and not just the amount thats been pumped through the filter

I no expert but in my opinion flow is important, I have a 120l tank, with a 1200ex filter which was providing the recommended 10x water changes per hour, but I was getting a dead spot due to hardscape and raised substrate. I had cuba planted there but was growing legy. So I added a wave maker and it made a world difference, Cuba finally started to spread out rather grow leggy.

What sort would i need for a 120ltr tank and would i need a timer with it then. Price ranges?

I'd say something like a Tunze nanostream 6015 would be ideal I reckon. 1800lph and small. £27 new on a quick look. I had a Koralia nano 900 in my 125l and would have liked just a little bit more than what it provided and considered the Tunze model mentioned, gets great reviews 🙂 no timer required.
