How long does bogwood/river wood take to dry out?

Hi all.
Im almost ready to start my first aquascape.
I still need to put my plant list together but once that’s done and the plants ordered I’ll be ready to go.
I want to practice with the layout when I have the plants and I’m wondering how long I would have before my wood dries out.
Its river wood from AG and has been soaking for around 3 years.

If you’re really worried the wood will dry while you take your time you could always wrap it in cling film to reduce evaporation then you can have as long as you want/need.
