Hi, all!
I discovered this forum because of a comment on Apistogramma.com about algae and what is causing it.
I have about 7 years experience in the hobby, over a 10 or so year period. The last 3 of the 7 have been a serious learning experience for me. Before that, I was just keeping fish, I bred a few mbuna by accident, but nothing too crazy.
Now, I breed "mutt" guppies to sell, and I'm in the process of starting a community/ Apistogramma breeding tank (not looking for 100% fry sales. I just have a little time, and if I can sell some offspring, then good).
I am in the hobby for the fish, no doubt, but after hearing the Aquarium Co-op podcast, I wanted to get into planted tanks. I started with a 60g with angelfish, and an anubius, and have since grown to a 60g, 55g, and 10g with some mix of pogostemin stollatus octopus, anubius (3 varieties, not sure which), Java moss, Java fern, and a small Amazon sword. I only do low tech setups, but I would like to eventually get a good light and just maybe, co2, when I graduate.
