Morning all and hello,
Whilst having lurked on here and used it as a resource plenty of times from google search I thought I should actually join.
I grew up in a household with tropical fish, but as far as I can remember my old man only had plastic plants.
Back in June we got my three-year old a small tank with 6 WCMM for his birthday, but I'd soon got the bug. We upgraded to a 60x30 and I'm pretty happy with how it's turned out.
Low tech no CO2 with a nicrew LED light, gravel substrate with osmocote root tabs and Flourish liquid ferts.
So now I've moved this tank into his bedroom and have installed a Roma 240 into the living room which will be my big project. Still playing with the hardscape on this one but will start a journal on this tank to document its journey.
With this one I've used alfragrog to build up the base which I will be topping with osmocote then a layer of baked clay Kayadama, this will be topped with unipac black sand for the planted/carpet areas, with play sand around the wood.
