Hi everyone,

Have lurked in the background for some time now and thought it about time to get involved.

My current battle is with my tank which I have had to place in a conservatory. Recently planted earlier this year and had many a battle with extreme temperatures with lots of natural light but feel it is finally on the up thanks to everything I've read on here! Now time to maintain and improve in any way I can

Welcome mate
The tank looks ok I imagine it would be hard to keep stable temp in a conservatory unless you have a rad in there.

Cheers lee

It was hard this summer. Suffered quite a bit of algae as had to take hood off to try keep temp down but that allowed alot of natural sunlight, which the algae was loving. Started using liquid co2 and ei dosing which helped get through but felt like a loosing battle at times.

Ah you mean through the summer months. Yes this summer was very hot. It would be like a green house in there.
Cheers lee

I use liquid carbon also this does help with algae issues I also use fertiliser everyday also.

Yeah it really was but through the worst of it now and time start thinking about how to keep it warm enough!
Only a temporary positioning as it really isn't ideal. Will look at going full on high tech with pressurised co2 and new lighting next spring and see if some consistency helps during the warmer / longer lighting months
