Hi all,

So I ordered "Hemianthus Micranthemoides" (Pearl weed) from here www.aquaessentials.co.uk/hemianthus-micranthemoides-p-7543 however the leaves are small and not narrow as the leaves of pearl weed usually are. I am wondering if they sent me baby tears
(HEMIANTHUS CALLITRICHOIDES) by mistake. They also sell
HEMIANTHUS GLOMERATUS which in the pictures looks how I would imagine pearl weed to look. Any help would be appreciated.

To me it looks like you have received what you ordered.
You have received emerse form of the plant and have to wait a bit while the plant adapt to submerse. In submerse form I am quite sure you will see the more elongated leaves being produced and the caracteristic upright growth-form.

Thankyou for the response!
Thought that could be why as I know my rotala had rounded leaves too in its emersed form and new growth was completely different. I'll just play the waiting game, should be interesting to see how it does in my low tech dirted tank. Everything else is growing nicely
