Help to fix a Light unit

Hello guys,

I am not sure if this is the right section but did not know where else to post it.

I am trying to help friend of mine to fix his Light unit (SM-SZD-A120)

Well the problem is that the 16 PIN ribbon cable burned and I am trying to find replacement for him.

Unfortunately all of the computer cables are too short to connect the front display to motherboard at the back.

So any one here working with computers and / or is able to sell / source cable like above but at least 35cm long please?

Any help / suggestions will be greatly appreciated 🙂

Maybe there is something on here you could use, if there is a cable that has too many pins but is the correct length then it could be split!

Hello mate,

thank you very much for your reply.

I tried to have look onto your link but unfortunately all their cables are too short (150mm) and so.

Also forgot to mentioned that the pins must be on other side 🙁 That it is probably the worst thing on it as we were able to find cables with pins on the same side.....

Is there such a thing like extender for cables like that? That he will be able to connect two shorter cables together?

Try www.molex.com for FFC jumpers. Available in 0.5mm, 16 way, 30cm with same and opposite side contacts,
