Help Me Get Into Pressurized Co2

I've been into planted tanks for a good few years now and for the whole time I've stayed away from researching pressurized co2. That's me just being prejudice thinking it would turn my tank into a high tech, super high maintenance, were I get my hands wet every couple of days sort of deal. Obviously there's a lot more to it than that. Then there is the expense, a lot more costly compared to the LC I currently use.

I've been been doing some reading up on LC and it doesn't actually add any co2 to the tank, but plants can use it in a similar way as they would co2. Also there a fine balance between it being good for your plants or bad. I watched a video were George Farmer said plants are 40% carbon, and explained how important co2 is for plants.

I feel a bit out of my depth not knowing what reactors, drop checkers, atomizer s, regulators, diffuser disks, actually are used for and if I need all of these things?

I have a dirtied 100L planted with only crypts so I know they are not demanding in regards to co2. Since I'm adding co2 does that mean I need to up my lighting and ferts? How many bubbles per second should I have for the plants I keep?I'm

Ideally I don't want to spend hundreds, £100 tops, maybe a bit more. Is that even possible?

Cheer to anyone who points me in the right direction.

You don't have to increase your light, only if you want faster growth.
Regardless, any additional CO2 will be beneficial to your plants...but either way you will probably need to increase your fetz dosing.
Finding the right conc of CO2 is not about bubbles/min, it's about a lime green drop checker at lights on and all the way till lights off.
I use an inline atomizer to deliver the CO2; it's very efficient and means there is one less peace of kit in the tank

The best place to start

Probably cheapest to go for an all in one system from CO2 Art, any of these will do https://www.co2art.co.uk/collections/complete-co2-systems

Also check out CO2 Art's Support Portal for tutorials on how to use the equipment you're about to buy https://help.co2art.eu/

And finally...welcome to the Dark Side...:)

Cheers man. Looks like I've got a lot of reading to do and then more re-reading.

I’ve been looking into this also but seems I have a lot to learn still, I’ve done a bit of research but it’s not as simple as I thought!

Well the links Tim provided are probably what we need to be getting are heads around. I bet some people do very little research and jump straight into high tech. Those are the people who run into problems because they didn't spend time trying to understand the science regarding pressurized co2.

@Zeus. Cheers man I'll find one and add it to my list.
