I've been into planted tanks for a good few years now and for the whole time I've stayed away from researching pressurized co2. That's me just being prejudice thinking it would turn my tank into a high tech, super high maintenance, were I get my hands wet every couple of days sort of deal. Obviously there's a lot more to it than that. Then there is the expense, a lot more costly compared to the LC I currently use.
I've been been doing some reading up on LC and it doesn't actually add any co2 to the tank, but plants can use it in a similar way as they would co2. Also there a fine balance between it being good for your plants or bad. I watched a video were George Farmer said plants are 40% carbon, and explained how important co2 is for plants.
I feel a bit out of my depth not knowing what reactors, drop checkers, atomizer s, regulators, diffuser disks, actually are used for and if I need all of these things?
I have a dirtied 100L planted with only crypts so I know they are not demanding in regards to co2. Since I'm adding co2 does that mean I need to up my lighting and ferts? How many bubbles per second should I have for the plants I keep?I'm
Ideally I don't want to spend hundreds, £100 tops, maybe a bit more. Is that even possible?
Cheer to anyone who points me in the right direction.
