HELP diatom identification

I have searched through many internet resources and still can't identify this diatom for certain. It's all over my christmas tree moss :(

If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated :thumbup:





This last picture looks like a side on view as the diatom is, or has just reproduced.

Unfortunately they don't appear to have my diatom :( It's annoying actually because this site does have a great picture of it but doesn't list it's name!

Interestingly, you can keep these diatoms alive in water under the microscope for a long time but the minute you put them in immersion oil (cedar wood oil) they start to disintegrate from the inside. Perhaps cedar wood oil can be used for treatment of diatoms :lol:
