Here is where I got after playing around a bit tonight. Overall, I am a bit concerned that the rocks in the front will end up obstructed by monte carlo and not end up being effective. Also I'm not sure if its too bunched up around the wood or not but without plants I'm having a hard time deciding if I really like it. This is my first real aquascaping attempt so I am very open to suggestions. I have about ten more pounds of Seiryu stone sitting in a box so I was wondering if I should build this up more or go back to the drawing board.

From the top so you can see areas for planting

Despite centralized layout I enjoyed a lot the hardscape and it's like a nano cube is more difficult to manage. If you are going to plant plants that will be focal point my advice to keep current layout.
